Engine of Fortune

Engine of Fortune is the skeleton of a table-top roleplaying system which heavily relies on a single deck of playing cards and some coins or assorted tokens. 

This particular reference document contains guidelines for Storytellers, a baseline for character sheets, a method of conflict resolution, and a card based list of prompts for quick character generation. It was written in order to assist other artists, writers, and designers in crafting games to drape upon these particular bones. 

Generally, it lends itself nicely to the noir style, pulp themes, and westerns. Dastardly villains, roguish heroes, and one-liners should be anticipated. It pairs nicely with gothic architecture, globe-trotting adventures, and monsters at home or on the silver screen.
